Standley means Oklahoma and we love to see things happen that mean growth. With Oklahoma’s continued growth, the 405 area code service area will be gaining another code in May.

To prepare for the added area code 10-digit dialing will begin April 24, 2021. That means all calls and faxes made within the Oklahoma 405 area code will have to be placed using the 10-digit telephone number (area code + the 7-digit telephone number).

Why 10-digit dialing?

The change is necessary in order to add another area code to the area currently being serviced by the 405 area code. Adding another area code ensures that there are enough numbers in that area for new telephone service customers.

So how does that affect your print device?

If you have programmed speed dials or saved fax numbers in the address book with only 7 digits (i.e. 224-3010), they will no longer deliver correctly. To comply with 10-digit dialing you will need to go in and edit your speed dials and saved fax numbers to include the area code. Also, manual entry faxes sent will require all 10 digits to complete the fax call.
