Standley Systems Main Sponsor of the Journal Record’s Inaugural Oklahoma’s Top Executive Assistant Award
January 31st, 2011Standley Systems was the main sponsor of Oklahoma’s Top Executive Assistant contest and its January 13th awards ceremony held at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. The contest, hosted and promoted by The Journal Record, honored thirty executive assistants from businesses and organizations across the state.
Honorees were selected from over a hundred nominations by a panel of businessmen and women. Alison Scott, executive assistant with Oklahoma City-based Asset Group Inc., was chosen to receive the top honor from a group of six finalists that also included Janny Cooper, Office of Gov. Brad Henry; Darlene Drew, Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency; Judie Harris, Francis Tuttle Technology Center; DesJean Jones, Jordan Associates; and Kelly McConnell, Chesapeake Energy Corp.
“I can’t think of a better way to start off the new year than by recognizing the individuals who perform at the very heart of the Oklahoma business community,” said Mary Mélon, president and publisher of The Journal Record. “We had an overwhelming response to this program and received many impressive nominations from across the state. It’s clear that honoring these unsung heroes is important to the leadership of these organizations and I’m pleased The Journal Record was able to launch this event to pay tribute to this accomplished group of executive assistants.”
Jayna Anderson, Senior V.P. of Sales at Standley Systems presented the award to the winner.
“We are proud of all of the nominees for Oklahoma’s Top Executive Assistant award,” said Greg Elliott, Chief Operating Officer of Standley Systems. “We know that it takes a special person to put in the extra effort required by CEOs and the executive suite.
